I am hosting Iran-Iraq war group build over at ARC so if you're interested in the subject of this GB you are more than welcome to join us. Some very nice prizes for the finished builds at the end as well

OK some progress

cockpits are done, except for the ejection seats - they still need some work

F-4D
OOB with kit decals - should look fine under closed canopy


F-5E
OOB, a little shallow tub if you ask me and very likely fictious detail, but again, under closed canopy it should look just fine


F-14A
OOB, and really nice work from Fujimi

Work continues and I've decided to build them in order from easiest to most complex airframe - meaning the F-5 is the first one.

Having a relative small parts count it builds very fast.



But as I attached the wings, I noticed these huge seams and also the intake parts are too big and will have to be sanded down to shape.

a small progress - intakes were attached and flying surfaces dryfitted - looks like a Tomcat now, doesn't it?

I have a new problem though - it appears carpet monster ate two parts for its beaver tail - guess it was very hungry - hope I find it somewhere. As I'm off to Switzerland for Axalp tomorrow next update will be a bit late.





is it just me or there are really some posts missing from this thread? I'm pretty sure I showed you photos of F-4D already???

Hello, very nice work so far.  Last week our server crashed and we lost some posts because the latest backup could not be retrieved. The F-4D pics were probably in these posts. Sorry for the inconvenience. Could you upload them again?

Especially with the F-14.As i have noticed you are going to keep the probe open..like all the IRIAF F-14!!!
Fujimi is giving the option about it or u are going to scratch it???

Quite a long time since my last update. Unfortunately real life prevented more progress on my builds, but luckily I've recently restarted my builds.

Since I don't have much time left, I've decided to put a Tomcat on hold and try to finish Tiger and Phantom until the deadline. With a little luck, I'll be able to finish the Tomcat as well. But first things first. Tiger and Phantom are in the painting stage and have yet to receive dark green color, some overspray repair (hey I'm doing a freehand paintjob) and the black parts and Alclads... Next progress sometimes in the next week, hopefully fully painted.

As you can see I went for a heavy faded look of a heavy burdened machines fighting the war in desert conditions.

I see some spots on the F-5 rudder and right wing as well as the right wing of the F-4.
Are these overspray spots?Will you spray again the tan in order to erase them?

thank you Tony. Unfortunately for you, I won't be building any Israeli aircraft as I strongly disagree with their politics and I have made swore that to myself. But worry not, there are plenty of interesting aircraft and camouflages around the world

Weathering on the undersides started. This was the first time I've decided not to preshade the model but use oils for highlighting and shadowing panels and I must admit, I'll probably never go back.
