Το δεύτερο μοντέλο του Jörg Gebhardt είναι ένα μοντέλο σπογγαλιευτικού Συμιακής Σκάφης, σχέδια του οποίου και πληροφορίες (όπως κι ο ίδιος γράφει)) βρήκε σε άρθρο-παρουσίαση μοντέλου του Γ. Μπουζούνη. Το άρθρο δημοσιεύθηκε στο περιοδικό RC Marine no 227 το 2013 και στα πλαίσια των δραστηριοτήτων του naftotopos.gr

The second model of Jörg Gebhardt is a model of a sponge fishing vessel, of Skaphee from Symi Island, for which, drawings and other information he found (as he also says) in an article-presentation of a model of G.Bouzounis. The article was published in RCMarine magazine no227 in 2013 and as a result of the related activities of naftotopos.gr.

Hi all.
The second boat I want to show to you is a Skaphee. I found
the plans in an article about the model in a French ship modelling
magazine. The builder of this model, George Bouzounis is also a member
of naftopos.gr and a very gifted modeler.
Using the plans I start building the model and through the process of the glue to be dried.... I was making a research work in bibliography.
So my first impression is that Skaphee as a hull is closely related to the
Arabian Dhow but whether was a potential connection between to those two boats has to be confirmed.
During my search, I had the opportunity to learn many things about Gr sponge fishing while I was also diving... in books. Reading all these things about naked divers bell-stones, basket with sponges and accidentally finds of amphoras ...I was making pictures in my mind, which later I decided to represent them on my model. I hope I had the closest vision...
