Τίτλος: F-16D 341M realistic loadout?
Αποστολή από: Hellas Thunder στις Μαρτίου 05, 2014, 02:19:39 μμ
Currently building a F-16D of 341M and I'm needing some info on realistic loadouts.

I'm thinking

Sta 1  AIM-9M
Sta 2  No pylon fitted
Sta 3  LAU118/AGM88(practice, no fins fitted)
Sta 4  370 Gal drop tank
Sta 5  No pylon fitted
Sta 6  370 Gal drop tank
Sta 7  LAU118/AGM88(practice, no fins fitted)
Sta 8  No pylon fitted
Sta 9  AIM-9M/ACMI or empty?

I'm using this photo as one reference but as you can see some pylons are not visible

Some questions

1/ Would such a jet carry two practice AGM-88's or just one with an empty LAU-118 on the other wing?

2/ Would empty LAU-128 rails be carried on Sta 2 and 8, or are these normally left off?

3/ With an AGM-88 fitted to one wing only would counter balance be required on the opposite side?

Thank you for any advice. ::salut::

If I remember correctly these photos come from EW exercise Elite 2008.

This loadout was for that exercise.

A typical training loadout would be

S1 - Captive AIM-9L/M
S2 - Pylon/no missile
S3 - Training AGM88 (no fins)
S4 - 370gals tank
S5 - no pylon
S6 - 370gals tank
S7 - Pylon/no missile
S8 - Pylon/no missile
S9 - no missile

That particular photo is in the 38th page in the airliners.net when you give the minimum criteria General Dynamics F-16 Fighting Falcon and Greece Air Force . I often find out that the more data you give to the search engine the less actual results you get , for example when i gave the keyword F-16D i got only three pages as a result and not the photos i expected and when i foolisly typed F-16DJ i got the sorry, no hits message!!!!.
As Doc said that particular configuration was for the EW exercise Elite and that explains the acmi(?) pod in S9  and since we don't have in our inventory that particular pod a typical training loadout would be as Doc suggests.
I'm glad i could help  ::salut::

I notice in Doc's reply he has both the AIM-9 and the AGM-88 on the same wing, would this be the case or would they be on opposite wings to give some degree of counter balance, like in the picture above?

I found the following photos that confirm your theory about the AIM-9 not being on the same wing to a training AGM-88 but Doc's configuration is a realistic one that should also be considered.

Checked my photo archives and indeed the CATM-9 and the AGM88 stand on on each wing (not the same one.... )

There is a nice photo of a 341 Sq jet with all the ordnance that you need.  ::salut::
