Hi all Rc fans Allow me some notes…
My Rc models are propelled by sails only. If the wind drops, then I
just have to wait a little longer.
For those mates who might believe that a working boat must have an electric motor, I can show up a solution.
The main thing is: I won´t put a propeller at the stern of the model since the real boats date back from the start of the century when diesel engines were not invented .
A propeller moving model would be historically incorrect.
So here is my solution.
Take a look at the first picture.
You see the two detachable keel extensions. At the bottom of the left one is a bulb of cast lead,
on top there are two brass rods and in the middle a sort of screw that
you can move up and down a little. On the right side is a similar keel extension
but the weight at the bottom is a motor with a propeller. The electric
wires go up inside to the brass rods.
Now take a look inside the hull of a boat.
In the middle there are two brass pipes and in between a nut to lock the sword. I can solder
electric wires to those pipes and connect them to a switch and a
battery. This device works perfectly well. When the model is on its
stand in the living-room the sword is off and in the water you hardly
see it.
