Ανοίγω αυτό το θέμα ως ελάχιστη απόδοσης εκτίμησης στον Jörg Gebhardt για την εκλεκτική του προτίμηση στα Ελληνικά ναυτομοντέλα, αλλά και τις γνώσεις του στην Ελληνική Ιστορία.
Συνάντησα τον Jörg στο forum του MSW.com και θεωρώντας πως ο μοντελισμός δεν βλέπει σύνορα και πολιτισμικές-ιδεολογικές διαφορές, τον κάλεσα να παρουσιάσει τα μοντέλα του στο Modelclub.gr. Ένα Πέραμα και μια Συμιακή Σκάφη.
Το παρακάτω (αποκλειστικά) δικό του κείμενο, καθώς και τα μοντέλα του, θεωρώ πως αποτελούν ένα καλό παράδειγμα αλλά κι ένα κίνητρο για όσους μοντελιστές αντιμετωπίζουν επιφυλακτικά τον μοντελισμό σκαφών της χώρας μας.
Εάν τίθεται θέμα μετάφρασης των παρακάτω κειμένων στα Ελληνικά, παρακαλώ ζητήστε το να το κάνω.

I open this thread as the less appreciation in return to Jörg Gebhardt for his selective preference to the Gr. ship models, as well for his knowledge in Gr. history. I met Jörg (George) in Msw.com forum and considering that modeling doesn''t stay on borders or cultural-ideological differences, I invited him to come and present his models here in Modelclub.gr. A Perama vessel and a Skaphee from Symi Island.
The following (exclusively) his own text, as well his models, I think are a good example but also a prompt, to all those who see skeptically the model construction of vessels of our country.

Well, you might wonder why a German builds Greek fishing boats.
Greece has got this long, long tradition as a prime Seafaring nation.
Wherever you travel along the shores of the Mediterranean Sea, you discover that communities and townships were started by Greek colonists. They got there by boat and stayed in contact with their homeland by boats.
All through the past centuries the Greeks continued to be an eminent seafaring nation and the tools were their boats. It is definitely interesting to know more about these boats and their daring sailors. It would be a shame if the knowledge about perama- trechantiri- varkalas got lost.
So as a school teacher and knowing the Gr history, now in my retirement I decided to express this enthusiasm of mine, by my favorite hobby-ship building.
I first chose to build a Perama vessel.
Agios Nikolaos, a Greek sponge boat at scale 1 : 35I found the plans in an American ship modeling forum and I had further knowledge from the book "American Sailing Ships, their plans and history" which besides the title, it also have some references to the Gr boats which had been used in sponge diving.
The boat is made with RC abilities and if there is something that might be criticized on (among all the other shortcomings), is the rigging of sails. But let me tell you that modelers of working (operating) models, do have to make compromises....
