Hi Guys
Lately been too much loaded from office work , i have been working on making a base for a mediaeval - Crusades vigniette with 6 figures (crusaders).
This is a cooperation project with a friend . I will be making the base and he will be making the figures.
So i used Seil Models Corridor Kit for the base (that will be soon reviewed here in HFM), as it suited my purposes a lot .
Before constructing the basic kit i found a suitable wood piece for the base

Then i used my OLFA scribber to enhance the depth of the seam lines, so it would add to the drama of the scene , as i thought they were a bit swallow. I also added some cracks on the stones and some more "damages" of missing small pieces and corners .

Then i used 2 parts epoxy glue to put everything in place following the construction sheet of Seil included with the kit

Then i cleaned with a toothbrush all the seams from remainings and resin particles and primed the whole scene with light gray automotive primer to have a solid base for painting "torture"

Atthe same time i tried the positions of some extras to enhance the scene .......

As you can see i gave a slight turn to the Corridor kit of Seil regarding to the base to avoid parallel lines that would make it some boring
The extra ground was covered with epoxy putty , textured with the good old toothbrush , and added some small peebles from the beach in different sizes to create some interest .

And then ...the painting
As i have said again , when i paint i do it in a following of moves that are mostly fast and also many of them inspirations of the moment depending the result i see and the needs , so i forget to shoot pictures.
But i shoot many of them atthe end so you can see all the angles of the result .

The painting is mostly oils over a base of acrylics
Some minor spots of vegetation was added to break the monotony

I tried with the painting to give the mediaeval feeling ...

Small items like the wheel , the tree stump , woukld add some interest in an off balance spot of the base

When making the base , i always turn it around a lot , to see if i have worked in the same quantitiy all sides of the base , as i want it to be 4 sides viewable

Little details add a note

The other sides thanthe front have also received a fair amount of work

And the roof the same !!!!

I hope u enjoyed it .
I will make most of my bases in small sbs 's like this so i give you some taste of my work mode in case you wanna ask something or comment or advice me .
Have a nice day
