Built to assist research into the aerodynamics of delta wings, the Boulton Paul P111 was the cornpany's first jet. Powered by a Rolls-Royce Nene, it flew in late 1951 and was later modified as the P111A - the photo shows the original configuration. It is preserved at the Midland Air Museum at Coventry Airport.
The Fairey Delta 2 supersonic research aircraft was the company's last fixed-wing type and raised the world's air speed record to 1,132mph, 310mph above the previous record set by a US Super Sabre. It was the first British aircraft to exceed 1,OOOmph and provided valuable data for the Concorde programme, the second of the two being fitted with an ogival wing in which form it became the BAC.221.

Τελικά οι άγγλοι έχουν έναν μοναδικό τρόπο να τα κάνουν ΟΛΑ πολύπλοκα, δυσλειτουργικά και παράξενα. Ομολογώ πως τις σπάνιες φορές που τα πάνε καλά, τα καταφέρνουν πραγματικά καλά, βλέπε Harrier, αλλά τις περισσότερες φορές έχουν τουλάχιστον παράξενη άποψη για τα πράγματα. Φυσικά υπάρχουν και οι περιπτώσεις που πυροβόλησαν απλά τα μούτρα τους όπως στο TSR.2...
